Vintage Love Bug2/01/2013 02:50:00 AM
Christmas time has come and gone, but that doesn't mean all the lovin's gotta go away too! Another holiday I love is drawing near, and I'm so excited about it, I have yet to figure out what to wear for that much-awaited day! Have you guessed it yet? Well, the big red heart above should be enough of a clue. That's right! Time to spread the love once again as Valentine's is just a few days away. And here I am sharing with you some of the lovely dresses I've stumbled upon one of my favorite online store that offers so much Eye-Candy: ModCloth!
As we welcome the new year for change, fashion trends begin to change as well. And one of this year's fashion forecasts? Vintage Mod is making a comeback! I'm super excited as I've always been a huge fan of the Mod days when girls would wear adorable dresses that show off their gorgeous curves yet still remain ever so modest and conservative. Totally lady-like! ModCloth has been the go-to store supplying us with super chic vintage clothing that would give you an initial flashback to the 60's. Style icons like Taylor Swift, Zooey Dechanel, Katy Perry, Victoria Becham, and -- dear Lord -- Twiggy, have been caught with the fever of this well-loved Mod style! And who can blame them? Thank God it's back, and I'm hoping it'd stay longer than the Peplum trend last year.
So like I said, I was feasting on the V-day catalogues of ModCloth one time to satisfy my feminine cravings for girly dresses. And here are some of the dresses I personally would recommend for a nice V-day date with a certain special someone. Who says you have to wear your heart on your sleeve all the time? Why not have it in front for everyone to see? With the rich color of the Blue in contrast with the bold Red, this dress screams Love right off the bat! Perfect for a nice casual stroll along the neighborhood, or a cute Ice Cream date! Throw on some white Keds or cute oxford flats, a nice straw boater's hat, a white cardigan, and you're all set!
Oh, the dainty lady look. Always appealing, don't you think? This white eyelet dress has got to be a classic on its own. Every guy likes seeing a girl in a white dress. And this one has got to be on your list! Throw on some wedged mary janes and a red blazer and you've given this dainty lady look a more chic vibe to it.
Business in front, party at the back. Now this has got to be the cutest mod dress I've seen! The heart-shaped bare back design is just the right modern twist to a classic fave. Oxblood's still not going anywhere, so this dress would be a great choice for an awesome lunch date at an italian restaurant. Maybe you could have that Lady and the Tramp spaghetti moment as well while you're at it? Heehee! Of course, without using your nose to roll the meatball across the plate or you'll be having lunch for one instead. Manners and etiquette are still required in any date.
Oh honey, with this red dress on, you'll be the center of his attention all night long! Usually when I see this bright shade of red on any piece of clothing, I do a double-take. And when it's basically clad in lace, yeah, not really the most innocent thing you'd think of. But this dress is the exception! It's red, AND it's all lace, AND it's not gonna make you look like -- hmm, what's a nice word for it... -- an escort. With a navy blue blazer or cardigan and some killer pumps, can you imagine walking down Manhattan in this dress ala Carrie Bradshaw? Oh snap!
Last, but not the least, a romantic peach ensemble just to top everything off. Soft, elegant, classy, and romantic, this dress has got to be the dress you wear when you have a lovely picnic in the park. I can already imagine myself wearing this with my hair in soft curls and a ribbon to top it off with my beige cardigan and cute flats. So sweet and romantic, like a modernized Jane Austen story. Plus, peach looks good on any skin tone!
These dresses are just five of my favorites from the many different catalogues ModCloth offers. Go check them out now and find that perfect romantic dress that suits your kind of date for Valentine's Day! Good luck! :)
